I would like to suggest to the managers of Delifrance restaurant chain in Hong Kong that they do themselves a favour and hire some of the unfortunate unemployed to clear tables in their many outlets.
I was at a Delifrance on a recent weekday morning, when the restaurant was almost full. The tables that were not occupied were covered with used trays, and I eventually asked a staff member if someone could please clear the tables. I enjoy eating at Delifrance as I like the food and the staff are usually very polite, but I have noticed this cluttered tables and full ashtrays problem at several of their outlets and think it is a shame that they do not seem to care very much about it. Maybe they could learn a thing or two about table-clearing from McDonald's.
