One fireman was slightly injured and four people had to be evacuated after the blaze broke out at 2.50pm. Cathay Pacific spokesman Quince Wong said the blaze started on the 14th floor and spread quickly to the 15th, 16th and 17th floors.

'The building is under construction and when complete will be a hotel for Cathay crew and visiting overseas staff.

'The completion date we hoped for was either late March or early April next year but this might cause some delay,' she said. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
