Jackie Chan's Global Food sees $75m loss from start-up woes

Movie star Jackie Chan's Global Food Culture Group blamed economic conditions and unforeseen difficulties in setting up new restaurants around the world for its $75.69 million interim attributable loss. The restaurant chain made a profit of $45.61 million in the corresponding period last year. Turnover also decreased 11.32 per cent to $227.74 million. Management decided to dispose of various loss-making operations such as the Korean Villa Restaurant and its interest in KG Financial Services, an investment advisory joint venture.
