NEW club champion Jason Kwok is included in the Royal Hongkong squad for this weekend's Mizuno Club Championship. American-born Kwok assured himself a place in the Fanling-based club's line-up by defeating Brian Choa in last month's RHKGC matchplay final. And his presence at the Shek O Country Club gives a further boost to the defending champions who are strong favourites to capture the title for the fourth time in five years. In Saturday's semi-finals, the RHKGC team take on Discovery Bay while hosts Shek O face Clearwater Bay, runners-up last year. The winners will meet in the final on Sunday for which the format will be three foursomes contests in the morning followed by six singles clashes. Captained by Ian Hindhaugh, the RHKGC squad also includes Choa, Alec Pettigrew, Doug Williams, national champion Scott Rowe, Donny Moore and Hugh Staunton. Discovery Bay, four-time winners of the event, also boast a wealth of experience with Cam Gribben, Peter Miles and Shigeki Sonoda all having represented the victorious Hongkong team in the 1991 Asia-Pacific Senior Championship. Hongkong's Roderick Staunton is lying third in the 15th Asia-Pacific Junior Championships in Taipei. Ten-year-old Staunton's combined score from Tuesday's and Wednesday's play in the under-12 event put him in third place on 174, four off the pace.
