A 14-year-old kick-boxing champion subdued a burglar in his home in To Kwa Wan yesterday.
The 25-year-old burglar was going through a living-room wardrobe when second-former Chong Tung-chai returned to his first-floor flat in Ma Tau Wai Road with two friends at about 4am.
'I immediately pushed him back into my flat when he tried to run out,' said the boy, who studied Thai boxing for three years.
'I found a knife on the table and grabbed it, pointed it at him and ordered him to kneel.' The burglar followed his instructions and did not put up a struggle.
'He admitted he was a thief and apologised. He told me he had not stolen anything and begged me to let him go.' Tung-chai's parents, woken up by the noise, called the police.
The mainland illegal immigrant was believed to have climbed into the flat through an unlocked kitchen window.
