Senior managers at ATV are being asked to follow the lead of their chief executive Feng Xiaoping and forgo one month's salary from their annual pay. Mr Feng last week volunteered to accept only 11 months' pay instead of 12 to help the company reduce costs. About 40 other senior managers have until January 14 to decide whether to go along with the move. Last month, the station's 1,300 employees were told they would have their fixed year-end bonuses scrapped this year. Employees would be eligible only for bonuses linked to individual or company performance. Senior managers did not receive fixed bonuses, said Steve Loo Chung-keung, senior vice-president of finance at ATV.
