Developers of Villa Esplanada in Tsing Yi have generated an enthusiastic response for this Saturday's sale, registering more than 1,000 prospective buyers.
Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP), the project's marketing manager, said it had registered 1,020 buyers by 6pm yesterday with the registration extended to 9pm as a result. The developers have so far released 400 units for sale on Saturday.
The first batch of 80 units was launched at an average price of $4,085 per square foot.
Midland Realty Tsing Yi branch assistant sales manager Dennis Chow Chi-chung said the satisfactory response was partly due to the project's convenient location and attractive prices. Villa Esplanada, adjacent to the airport railway's Tsing Yi Station, was launched at about 10 per cent below transacted prices in the secondary market, he said.
