In an effort to raise standards in the sports and entertainment industries, a special training programme has been launched.
The management training programme, offered by the Centre for Sports Marketing and Entertainment Management, is the first of its kind in Asia.
The centre was set up last year to introduce a new dimension to event management and marketing.
Founder and chairman Steve Feuerstein said the programme was designed to help participants develop expertise in the sports marketing and entertainment fields and train them to deal with the complexities and dynamics of sports campaigns.
He said existing programmes were too academic and administration-oriented and failed to help people in the industry deal with sports and marketing management problems in the commercial world.
The new programme is designed for job-seekers in need of vocational expertise, managers and staff, athletes and artists, and government and association officials in the sports and entertainment industries.
