Evergreen names its new top team
Evergreen Marine Corp (Taiwan) has announced a major reshuffle of its management following the resignation of Chang Kuo-hua, heir apparent to the Evergreen shipping empire in September.
According to a Lloyd's List report, Mr Chang, the eldest son of Evergreen founder and chairman Chang Yung-fa, had worked for the transport giant for about 20 years and was viewed as the leading contender to run the marine business.
Only one of the founder's sons remains with the firm, while son-in-law Cheng Shen-chih is Eva Airways' chairman.
Over the weekend, Evergreen announced the promotion of president George Hsu to the position of vice-chairman and chief executive vice-president Marcel Chang to fill the post of president.
Jack Yen, president of Evergreen's Hong Kong agency operation, Evergreen Star Hong Kong, will be transferred to Evergreen Marine Corp (Taiwan) to fill the position of executive vice-president of its project division.
Mr Yen's position in Hong Kong will be taken by James Huang, now senior vice-president of Evergreen Marine's project division in Taipei.
