POLICE arrested two men after one threatened officers with a pistol in Yuen Long about 5am yesterday.

 Two pistols and 15 bullets were seized from the pair, aged 22 and 35.

 The pair, surnamed Shea and Cheung, were stopped for questioning by Yuen Long District Task Force officers who said the men were acting suspiciously outside an electrical appliances shop on Castle Peak Road.

 One man drew a pistol from his waistband and pointed it at an officer.

 A scuffle broke out which drew attention from other patrolling officers who helped subdue the pair.

 One policeman was discharged from Pok Oi Hospital after being treated for slight injuries sustained in the scuffle.

 Initial examinations by the Forensic Firearms Bureau found 15 rounds of ammunition inside the chambers and magazines of the two pistols.

 The 7.62mm pistols and ammunition were confirmed as genuine.

 Plastic handcuffs were also found on the men.

 The men were last night being detained by the District Crime Squad in Yuen Long for further inquiries.
