With sales approaching double platinum just a few short months after its release, Andy Lau Tak-wah's Stupid Kids album is proving to be a smart move.
In this new Putonghua double album, Lau says he wants to let his fans know how people born in the '60s - he was born in 1961 - view the world today.
Disc One includes 15 of Lau's greatest hits and new recordings of Stupid Kids and Especially More Fireworks Last Year. The lyrics of Stupid Kids were written by Lau. The Canto-pop king wants to show how people who were born in that period have lived through a time of tremendous change.
There are three versions of Stupid Kids. Besides the one on Lau's album, Taiwanese artists Jacky Wu Chung- shein and Blacky Ho Shou-leong also recorded the song.
However, these two versions are not available and can only be heard on the radio.
'Although Jacky and Blacky are working for my company, we were born in the '60s. We can elaborate our real feelings for listeners in a much more realistic way through the song,' Lau said.
