Workshops for English teachers

THE Department of English at the City Polytechnic of Hongkong will hold a series of workshops for secondary school teachers on Saturday mornings from May 8 to June 5.

The theme of the workshops is ''Creative Approaches to English Language Teaching''.

Five workshops on topics including communicative grammar teaching, drama and literature in language teaching, language games and reading logs will be offered.

The workshops are aimed at giving English teachers practical ideas they can use in the classroom. Demonstrations and activities for teachers will be featured.

The tutors will be members of the Department of English at the City Polytechnic of Hongkong.

The fee is $80 per workshop or $350 for the series.
