Mainland China will make a strong showing at Hong Kong Fashion Week Fall/Winter '99, Asia's largest fashion trade fair.
Nineteen countries are represented among the 710 exhibitors at the show which runs from today until Friday at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The number is down from 832 exhibitors and 23 countries last year, the decline being attributed to the ongoing Asian financial crisis.
Buyers will find the latest casual wear, career wear, evening and cocktail apparel, swim wear and sports wear, children's and babies clothing, along with handbags, accessories and haberdashery at the event.
With 455 exhibitors, Hong Kong has the greatest number of participants.
Among the 255 from abroad, the largest group is from the mainland with 131, up 26 per cent on last year.
