Kai Tak plan draws 800 complaints

More than 800 individuals and groups had objected to development of the former Kai Tak site, the Planning Department said yesterday.

Mr Fung said: 'Although the objections are different in variety, most centre on the concerns that the scale of the proposed reclamation has been excessive.' Some wanted the site to be used for the creation of a commercial park, the Director of Planning said.

Mr Fung said the Town Planning Board would study the objections during the next few months.

It is expected to make recommendations on the redevelopment plan by the end of the year.
