A taxi driver was jailed yesterday for nine months after stabbing his wife's lover in a jealous rage.
Li Wai-man, 32, could not stand Ngan Hang-lan, 28, choosing her engineer lover over him, the District Court heard.
On September 17 last year, Li demanded at a meeting between the three that Ms Ngan choose between him and To Pang, 36, whom the receptionist met at work and began an intimate relationship with in 1997.
Ms Ngan's prompt reply affected Li so much that he pulled out a knife and stabbed Mr To in the back.
The victim fled and was followed by the couple in Li's taxi. Ms Ngan got out and accompanied Mr To to hospital while Li drove off. Mr To suffered an 8cm wound.
Li pleaded guilty to a charge of wounding with intent before Judge Patrick Li Hon-leung.
