A PROPOSAL setting a height limit for barge derricks in the Rambler Channel off Tsing Yi Island was yesterday condemned for not going far enough to reduce the danger to islanders. Residents want a height limit of 17 metres. The Government promised to consider the ban after two derricks hit Tsing Yi's south bridge last July. But the Tsing Yi Concern Group said yesterday a draft law setting height limits at up to 20 metres had been prepared. Vice-chairman Mr Ting Yin-wah said: ''We are shocked that the Government is risking our lives for business interests.''
