London: Wimbledon striker John Hartson was hit with a record-equalling GBP20,000 fine and a three-match ban by the English Football Association yesterday for kicking former West Ham teammate Eyal Berkovic in the head.

 The incident happened during a West Ham training session in October as Israeli international Berkovic kneeled on the ground after a hard tackle.

 It was captured on video by a fan and broadcast around the world.

 The club fined him GBP10,000.
