Singer Leon Lai Ming is facing possible legal action after South Korean band Hot alleged the Canto-pop king had copied one of their tunes.

The pop group says the tune for Lai's Happy 2000 - a chart- topper in Hong Kong - is very similar to their song, Candy .

The song's composer, Mark Lui Chung-tak, played down the controversy, saying he had never heard Hot's song and the similarity was simply a coincidence.

With old nude pictures of actress Shu Qi having resurfaced recently, it seems the past is coming back to haunt the former porn star. The Taiwanese actress says she sold the rights of the entire collection of photographs to a businessman when she arrived in Hong Kong to start her movie career. She said there was very little she could do now to stop their publication since the businessman had a legal right to reprint the pictures.

But she has no regrets.

The popular star said the photographs helped propel her into the mainstream of the film industry in Hong Kong.
