Two marine park guided tours will be organised for secondary school teachers in April to familiarise them with the ma rine environment in Hong Kong. The tours, organised by the Agriculture and Fisheries De partment (AFD), aim to give teachers a better understanding of local marine resources and their conservation. Each group of about 30 par ticipants will visit Hoi Ha Wan or Yan Chau Tong Marine Park. Department staff will introduce the ecology and seascape of the park. The trip aims to better equip teachers for teaching marine environment and conservation, both in class and on field trips. The department will also or ganise 20 guided tours for sec ondary students this year. Its Marine Parks Division has produced an information kit on marine parks and marine re serves which will be distributed to secondary schools through the Education Department. The kit comprises a CD-Rom and information brochures on marine parks and marine re serves as well as the marine bio- diversity of Hong Kong.
