NEWS reaches us of a near hiccup to the plans of MTV Asia, which was in Calcutta at the weekend filming another of those musical extravaganzas that are fast becoming the opiate of the teeny masses.
An MTV Party Zone segment was scheduled to be taped from the city's ultra-trendy nightspot, Incognito, where a strict dress code prevails including, it transpires, no earrings for males.
But VJ Danny McGill (please feel free to yawn), it seems, wouldn't be seen without bits of dainty jewellery dangling from his ear lobes.
We are told they eventually agreed to let him in. But knowing young McGill's ravenous appetite for publicity, we wouldn't be surprised if he put the nightclub up to the thing in the first place.
Incidentally, are there no VJs at MTV Asia apart from love-birds McGill and Sophiya Haque? Just asking.
