What about using DVD-Rom drives for your PC or Mac? DVD drives can read most CD-Roms. Because of this backwards compatibility, the drives already are being shipped with desktop and notebook PCs by some manufacturers, including Dell Computer, Apple Computer and IBM.

To add DVD to an existing PC, you can buy a DVD drive from Creative or Panasonic for $800 to $900, with another $800 to $1,200 for an Mpeg card.
