Logistics company U-Freight has established a new subsidiary, U-Ocean Japan, to expand its sea-freight activities.
U-Freight Japan's activities primarily had concentrated on air freight, so the ocean initiative was a significant development, U-Freight Japan president Ryosuke Yoshida said.
The U-Ocean brand and a dedicated sales team would provide a strong base from which to develop the business, through more focused marketing on the regional and trans-Pacific routes.

Throughout this year, the company would look to further develop its sea-freight traffic on its existing routes and on others it was planning to develop, Mr Yoshida said.
