Swire moots Mount Parker redevelopment

Swire Properties plans to build a 33-storey, 650,000-square foot office complex on the site of its vacant Mount Parker House in Quarry Bay.

Tenants in the 18-year-old building began receiving notices to quit the premises late last year when the developer announced it did not intend to renew leases.

Demolition has started and is expected to take about six months.

The new building is supposed to be completed by 2003, a Swire Properties spokesman said.

The building will have about three times the height and floor space of the 13-storey, 211,480-square foot Mount Parker House.

The development would include 56,263 square feet of retail space, analysts said.
