What are carnivores? Are all animals carnivores? Animals that eat meat are known as carnivores. Compared to plants, animal food contains a lot of useful nutrients. However, unlike plants, animals have many more ways of avoiding attack, so predators have to work hard to get a meal.
Small, warm-blooded predators, such as shrews, need a constant supply of food and have to hunt most of the day. But a large cold- blooded hunter, such as a python or crocodile, use relatively little energy and can survive for many weeks between meals.
There are many animals that eat plants. They are called herbivores. Plant food is easy to find but is sometimes low in nutrients.
To survive, grazing and browsing animals have to spend a large amount of time eating each day.
Why do you have that funny feeling inside when you swing? Because you are out of balance. It all starts deep in your ears. Messages go from there to your brain.
They tell your brain which way you are going and how fast you are going. That's how you keep your balance.
