Italian love affair over

It was long billed as Italy's most enduring show-business marriage, but after 29 years Romina Power and Albano Carrisi are separating.

The daughter of the late actor Tyrone Power and jet-setter Linda Christian met the Italian singer on a movie set.

Carrisi told the Italian media the marriage began unravelling after the couple's eldest daughter, 23-year-old Ylenia, disappeared in New Orleans in 1994. She has never been found.

'Today's Romina is unrecognisable from the woman I knew,' Carrisi told Oggi magazine. 'And this Romina doesn't want me in her life anymore.' Power has pursued a successful show-business career of her own as a singer and television hostess.
