Six Macau Jockey Club outlets could reopen tomorrow, less than a week after they were closed and staff were arrested in a series of illegal gambling raids by police.
Top management and lawyers from the club will meet today to decide whether to re-open the service centres, a club spokesman said.
If it was agreed to resume business, outlets would open tomorrow on the eve of the Governor's Cup at Taipa racecourse.
However, if the centres reopen, official sources have warned that renewed police raids could take place.
They have also hinted that action could be taken at similar businesses which provide sporting information.
The club spokesman said last night: 'We don't have a concrete answer yet, but top management will meet tomorrow and we expect a decision by the afternoon.' Lawyers for the club argue that the centres have not breached gambling laws. Most of them opened four years ago.
