To mark the launch of the Oneworld frequent flier co-operative alliance among Cathay Pacific, British Airways, American Airlines, Qantas and Canadian Airlines, the airlines hosted a cocktail party at the Conrad Hotel, where the bigwigs of the airline and travel industry turned up to enjoy a lavish buffet. The highlight of the evening was a lucky draw where one fortunate person won a round-the-world air ticket.
