A FURNISHED home in Sanctuary Cove, Australia's only fully integrated residential community and resort near Queensland's Gold Coast, is for sale at A$750,000 (about HK$4 million).
With security rated as the prime aspect of the development, and lifestyle second, markets in Hongkong, Taiwan and Singapore have responded most consistently as overseas buyers.
The Australian Government's designation of the development as an Integrated Tourism Resort (ITR) has also been a major investment incentive to the international market.
ITR status removed foreign investment barriers from purchasers and sellers of residential property within Sanctuary Cove and the relaxation of Australian regulations governing foreign investments means non-Australians may now buy and sell homes and land at Sanctuary Cove in a free market environment.
Government approval need not be sought.
As for the home, marble, glass and art nouveau extravagance have been combined by an in-house designer and decorator team.
A strong nautical theme runs through the house. The use of cool blues, canvas and heavy ropes ensures it.
