A NORTH Point dispensary suspected of selling cough medicine and stimulants to young people without prescriptions was raided by police last night. About 40 gallons of a substance believed to be a Part 1 poison used in cough syrup, and a large quantity of stimulants were seized. Officers from Eastern's Special Duty Squad said it was their biggest seizure of stimulants and cough medicine this year. The 28-year-old proprietor of the Fung Shing Dispensary in King's Road was arrested and released on police bail of $20,000. Detective Inspector Ho Ka-fei said that seven dispensaries in Eastern District were believed to have sold stimulants and cough syrup to teenagers without asking for doctors' prescriptions. A young policewoman posed as a customer at all seven to buy stimulants and cough syrup. Six refused to sell.
