Telford murder appeal lodged as more details of 'mastermind' offered
Mainland fung shui master Li Yuhui yesterday lodged an appeal against his death penalty for the Telford Gardens murders.
Li also gave more information about a Zen follower he claims was the mastermind behind the five murders.
'He gave some detailed descriptions of the Zen follower, saying he is in his 30s and measures about 1.75 metres,' one of his lawyers, Zhou Wei, said after a two-hour meeting at Shantou's Tuopu detention institute.
'He believes the follower is a Hong Kong resident but not a monk.' The Shantou resident, 46, told his lawyers about three meetings with the Zen follower in Hong Kong but could not give his name.
Li had failed to provide details of the Zen follower and told the judge during the trial that it was not time for him to disclose any clues.
His lawyers said they would look into the new information but added they could not ask the Hong Kong police to help find the Zen follower.
