NEW graduates from the University of Hong Kong are earning eight per cent less than those of the previous year, according to a survey conducted by its Careers Education and Placement Centre.

New graduates earned a gross average $13,325 per month.
In a survey of 2,383 graduates carried out by the university the most popular career path remained commerce and industry, traditionally the biggest graduate employer, which attracted 20 per cent.
A further 14 per cent pursued teaching and 13 per cent went into engineering.
Ninety-four per cent found employment, began further studies or were engaged in a personal pursuit within six months.

About 55 per cent had received more than one job offer during that time.
