Favourite book: I like 'faction' with a vision, and I love reading about Chinese history. My current favourite is The Soong Sisters by Emily Hahn.
Magazine: Wallpaper for its fresh graphics and excellent coverage of fashion, architecture, travel and food.
Film: Old black-and-white Chinese movies broadcast at 3 am that allow me to live in the past for a while. The cars, clothes, accessories and hairstyles are fascinating.
CD: I love singing Cantonese opera. My favourite, which I performed recently in Sai Wan, is Kum Tiu (seduction with the chin) sung by Chan Siu-hon. I also admire the passion of black American soul singers.
Car: The black, 1980 BMW 635 which I've had for 16 years and which I call 'Grandpa'. I love driving it on Repulse Bay Road ... it grabs curves like a leopard grabs its prey.
