Pacific Connections helps its customers improve their business operations and communication by harnessing new Internet technologies for both internal and external use.
With headquarters in Hong Kong since 1996, the company specialises in the evaluation, design and implementation of intranets, extranets and Web sites. It has offices in London and Silicon Valley.
Pacific Connections is one of few full-service intranet consulting companies in Hong Kong with experience in providing a full range of intranet, extranet and Internet solutions.
'Our mission is to help customers maximise their business potential by using Internet technologies internally in order to increase competitiveness,' said the company's general manager, Colin Simpson.
An intranet enables staff to access valuable company resources spread over a large physical area using a simple Web browser. It is especially useful for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with offices around the world.
Mr Simpson said knowledge-intensive, service-oriented sectors benefited most from using intranets.
The Information Technology and Broadcasting Bureau (ITBB) recently contracted Pacific Connections to design demonstration prototypes of the Government's forthcoming Electronic Services Delivery (ESD) system.
