Lawmaker Lau Chin-shek's future in the Democratic Party will be decided for him unless he chooses between it and The Frontier.
'If he does not make up his mind, the party will make a decision for him,' party whip Szeto Wah said.
A party resolution prevents unionist Mr Lau from having membership of two parties.
But Mr Szeto did not specify what action the party would take if Mr Lau declined to make a choice.
The party's central committee would further discuss Mr Lau's case this month.
Mr Lau missed a March 31 deadline to make a decision.
