Shoes made by Hong Kong-listed Prime Success International under the Daphne brand name were the best selling ladies footwear on the mainland last year, according to the State Statistics Bureau.
Sales exceeded 2.7 million pairs last year according to a survey conducted jointly by the Bureau, the China Productivity Institute and the China Industry Information Release Centre.
Chairman Chang Wen I said the company was planning to increase the number of sales outlets to 1,500 from 800.
Daphne footwear was launched in 1995 and accessories were developed under the same brand name last year. They are both exported to the United States, Japan and Europe.
The annual production capacity of its seven manufacturing plants in Shanghai and Fujian, with 30 production lines, is about 34 million pairs.
Prime Success was listed in Hong Kong in November 1995.
