I live in Shek Lei Estate, which is a public housing estate in Kwai Chung.
I have been encountering a very troublesome neighbour on the floor where I live. People in that flat are always doing something that is annoying and disturbing to their neighbours, including me.
I have written two letters of complaint to the estate office, but disappointingly, nothing concrete has been done. Then, one night last month, my neighbour decided to have a barbecue in the lift lobby. I felt so angry that I phoned the estate office in order to complain. The member of staff I spoke to promised to send some security guards, but 30 minutes after my call, the barbecue was still going on. Why have my complaints all been ignored? I am outraged that the officials on this estate have been so irresponsible. No action has ever been taken even though my neighbour makes a lot of noise and uses a skateboard in the lift lobby. Other residents on the floor are also upset by what is happening.
All Hong Kong people are entitled to enjoy a decent living environment. Would the relevant government department explain what people like me can do when a problem like this arises? NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
