Bosnian striker Alen Bajkusa scored two goals and created another against his old club as Happy Valley collected their first win in the championship phase of the Ericsson League, beating Golden 3-2 yesterday.
Bajkusa, who made his club debut for Happy Valley on April Fool's Day, had the last laugh, scoring in the 35th and 55th minutes in Valley's first win in nine matches in all competitions.
First-phase champions Happy Valley are currently two points behind leaders South China, who have a game in hand, but Valley still have a chance of winning the league outright by preventing a title-play-off.
Bajkusa, the 27-year-old striker who played for French First Division side Caens last season but has had stints with South China and before that Golden, gave his side a 2-1 half-time lead after scoring with a low shot.
Croatian forward Goran Paulic gave Golden a surprising eighth minute lead when he latched onto a Wu Qunli ball before rushing into the penalty and beating Valley 'keeper Peter Guthrie with a delicate chip into the net.
English striker John Moore equalised four minutes later, rising high to head home Bajkusa's cross.
