Shocking sight in cinema
I went to watch the film 8mm, starring Nicolas Cage, at UA Queensway on Friday, April 9, at the 9.20pm showing.
The film was about 'snuff' movies and the underground world of pornography as it apparently is.
It contained explicit scenes, graphic language and violence. Shocking, to say the least. However, not as shocking as what I saw when the lights came on at 11.20pm - parents with a child who could not have been older than 10.
I would like to pose the following questions: Is it UA Cinema's policy to allow children into films like this without question? Why is it not clear from the UA Cinema advert in the South China Morning Post what the 'age rating' is for these movies? What sort of parent would take a child to a movie like this at this hour of night? Does anyone in Hong Kong care anyway? NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
