The four-member InterReactive cyber team of Tuen Mun Catholic Secondary School has emerged as first prize winner in the BSPU/SCMP Web Design Competition's secondary category. They won a seven-day, all expenses-paid trip to Silicon Valley in California, a Compaq desktop computer, 1,000 hours LinkAGE online dial-up account, one NIIT fully-paid computer course and a $750 Reebok gift voucher.
Other winners are: Sha Tin Government Secondary School's Voyager for Best Design; Carmel Divine Grace Foundation Secondary School for Best IT Application and Hon Wah Middle School's Fly-wings for Best Content. For the full results, refer to the accompanying chart.
The theme for the secondary category of the competition, organised by the Business and Services Promotion Unit of the Financial Secretary's Office and the South China Morning Post, was 'Hong Kong as a Service Economy'. A total of 126 teams competed in this category and were given points based on design, content, creativity, technical aspects and teamwork.
The primary category, the theme of which was 'Hong Kong for Kids', received entries from 164 teams. The open category, with the theme 'Hong Kong: The City That Means Business', attracted 103 teams. Judges included Financial Secretary Donald Tsang Yam-kuen and SCMP chief executive Owen Jonathan.
