A CONFERENCE on ''New Development in Thailand's Capital Markets'' will be organised by the Institute for International Research from May 12 to 14 in Bangkok. The conference will highlight the latest trends in the Thai capital markets under the new Securities Exchange Commission rules, the optimisation of the value of company shares, innovative financing techniques for new business ventures, how to protect one's interests under the new financial system and the changing role of banks under the deregulated system. The conference will have two optional workshops on stock valuation and portfolio management and profiting from securities. The institute has specially invited an international guest speaker from Singapore, Mr Kok Kar Wing, who is the executive vice-president of the Stock Exchange of Singapore, as well as the director of Morgan Grenfell Asia (Hongkong), Mr Mark Patterson. In addition, other presentations will be made by Denton Hall Burgin and Warrens Thailand, Bank of Thailand, Asia Securities Trading Co, First Asia Securities, Securities One, Jardine Fleming Thanakom Securities, and others.
