The three housing bodies should be Y2K compliant by September, an official said yesterday.
Principal assistant secretary for housing Tin Hon-wai said all systems for the Housing Department, Society and Authority, should be compliant before then.
The chairman of the Legco housing panel, Lee Wing-tat, said: 'I worry that estate residents may be affected by the Y2K problem such as water supply being cut or lifts out of order.' But Housing Department chief manager Ho Chi-sing said systems had been tested and operations were normal.
