ELDERLY gymnasts performed at City Hall yesterday to mark the end of a 'Vitality Month for Older Persons' run by the Provisional Urban Council. Dancers and tai chi practitioners also joined in a closing ceremony which saw more than 200 activities arranged for senior citizens. 'One of the highlights of the month-long event was 'gymnaestrada' where groups of elderly participants displayed their strength, agility and smooth co-ordination in general gymnastics performances,' said the chairman of the council's sports and activities subcommittee, Wong King-cheung. 'During the month, we also provided motor ability tests for the elderly to give them a better understanding of their general health conditions such as blood pressure, balance, eye-hand co-ordination and agility.'
