Asthma patient Leung Kam-ip has been a frequent hospital visitor since becoming a Christian.
A chronically ill patient himself, Mr Leung, 39, visits patients every week and invites them to Sunday service.
'Mr Leung's kindness in supporting other patients is a good example of patients working with our health-care team in a positive and mutually supportive way,' said Amy Ip Ka-yee, patient relations officer at Haven of Hope Hospital.
'We really appreciate his help.' Mr Leung became a Christian three years ago when he was transferred to the hospital.
'I have been touched by the love and care of medical staff and the chaplain,' said Mr Leung. 'I like to share with [patients] my experience, and I know care and respect are all they want.' Mr Leung's contribution to the patients led to him being named in the Jockey Club Act of Kindness campaign.
The Act of Kindness campaign is run by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and supported by the South China Morning Post.
