Mass residential housing prices rose moderately in Kowloon and the New Territories in the month to mid-May, thanks to the improved buyer sentiment.
In Kowloon, prices rose 11.1 per cent to $5,000 per square foot in Beacon Hill, 8.8 per cent to $4,150 per sq ft in Yau Ma Tei, and 2.7 per cent to $3,200 per sq ft in Cheung Sha Wan.
Apartments in Laguna City, a large housing estate in Lam Tin, sold at $4,200 per sq ft, up 2.4 per cent from $4,100 per sq ft. In Kowloon East, prices fell 1.6 per cent to $3,210 per sq ft, from $3,261 per sq ft.
In the New Territories, apartments in Tsing Yi sold at $3,800 per sq ft, up 7 per cent from $3,550 per sq ft, and units at Royal Palms sold at $3,343 per sq ft, up 4.9 per cent from $3,188 per sq ft.
In Tseung Kwan O, units were sold at an average of $3,700 per sq ft, up from $3,675 per sq ft while flats in Kwai Chung were sold at $3,356 per sq ft, up from $3,288 per sq ft.
In Fanling, flats were sold at an average of $2,927 per sq ft, up from $2,824 per sq ft.
