A two-day carnival to celebrate the 111th anniversary of the Peak Tram will be held on May 29 and 30 from 11 am to 7 pm on the Viewing Terrace, Level 5 of the Peak Tower. Handicrafts, face-painting and fortune-telling stands and hot dog and sweet stalls will be set up. Performances will be staged by a school marching band, a Dixieland band, clowns, jugglers and stilt walkers. The Peak Tramways Company will also use this opportunity to raise money for the Matilda Bazaar and Sedan Chair Race Charities Fund. One of the highlights of the weekend will be a charity 'dancethon' where children aged six to 11 will dance for 111 minutes non-stop.
