Even the hoisting of typhoon signal No 3 failed to dampen spirits at Pui Shing Catholic Secondary School's 6th annual swimming gala. Principal Thomas Chiu officiated at the opening ceremony and the contestants took to the water like a school of fish, competing in a variety of swimming events. As usual the house relays were the most exciting. Every house seemed determined to win. The cheering teams shouted their house songs and slogans at the passing swimmers. Angela Wong, the school's educational psychologist, was the guest-of-honour. She presented trophies to the winners and addressed the school. She encouraged students to develop perseverance and exploit their potential through participating in sporting events. For the results, Topaz House won the overall championship title. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr Chiu congratulated the swimmers on their success. He also thanked teachers and students for their work preparing for the sports meet.
