As the Cathay Pacific sick-out grows in intensity, so does the public's desire to see the pilots return to work.

Restaurant staff appear to have particularly strong feelings on the matter.

Pilot-frequented establishments say they've had just about enough of the disgruntled Cathay crew, and the sooner they seal themselves back in their cockpits, the better.

On Monday night a bunch of them showed up at a fully licensed Lantau restaurant armed with their own bottle of wine.

The manager decided to be flexible, and told them they could drink it on the premises if they agreed to pay a corkage charge.

This threw the crew into paroxysms of righteous indignation.

Look, the manager explained, this is a place that makes its money serving food and drink. If people brought their own drinks and ordered in pizzas, we wouldn't last very long.
