Phang Shu-sum, 55, had faced five counts of using an instrument with intent to procure miscarriage on five women between February 23 and April 10, 1990, at a Mongkok clinic.

Mr Peter Cosgrove, appearing for the Crown, told Mr Justice Saied in the High Court that the prosecution could not find four of the victims and the fifth woman's evidence could not support the charge.

Mr Graeme Hagon appeared for Phang.
