What are your plans for this year? I have just finished acting in a movie, A Tale in An Island, which will be released in Japan this summer. I am now playing a role in a TV drama, The Bride with White Hair , being shot in Shanghai. Meanwhile, my Cantonese EP, Mr Children , was released in April. I hope to concentrate on acting rather than singing this year.
How did you start your showbiz career? When I came back to Hong Kong in 1991 after finishing high school in Australia, I was given a chance to record my first solo album, Modern Love Story . I was then 20 years old. The album's title song - a duet with Maple Hui Chow-yee - won several awards.
What was your childhood ambition? Did you always want to be a singer? When I was a child, I often dreamed of being a soccer player. Due to my tight working schedule, I haven't played soccer for a long time. But I sometimes watch matches on TV with my friends.
How many hours a week do you spend on music lessons? Will you learn dancing? I don't take any music lessons, but I practise all the time. Of course, I will study dancing if the need arises.
Will you be holding any concerts this year? No. This is because acting is my priority this year. However, if time allows, I may stage a few joint or mini-concerts.
Do you think you can strike a balance between acting and singing? With diligence, patience and perseverance, I am confident of doing well in both fields.
