A debate on setting up a walk of fame, based on the one in Hollywood, was postponed after two councillors walked out.

A row broke out at the Provisional Urban Council meeting when Lam Man-fai of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong spoke to amend a motion sponsored by Democrat Wu Chi-wai.

Mr Wu wants the walk to be set up outside the Cultural Centre to mark the contribution of the local film industry and a film industry hall of fame to be built at the Film Archive Planning Office. Mr Lam wants a hall built to pay tribute to the whole performing arts industry.

Mr Lam accused the Democratic Party of being ignorant for wanting to exclude kung fu star Bruce Lee.

He was referring to an earlier debate in which a DAB proposal to set up a Bruce Lee memorial was voted down by the Democrats.
